I need to plot in this exposition a portion of the manners by which Swift's writings - specifically the shorter composition works and the verse worried about the female body - take up and make express conflicting philosophical positions. Much time and basic exertion has been spent endeavoring to follow some bringing together philosophical string through the labyrinth made by these and other of Swift's compositions, when such a string might be subtle to the point of evaporating altogether.1 It appears to be conceivable that one reason for this basic need to build up consistency in Swift is the impact of Postmodernist idea, which will in general reason an adapted reaction to eighteenth century artistic works in which the instinctual move is to search for that which totalizes, compartmentalizes, uncovers an ace story or supplies an unmistakably characterized straight teleology. Assuming, notwithstanding, this sort of pre-envisioned consistency demonstrates inaccessible, the pundit is le ft with the thought of a multi-vocal, polychromatic Swift which ought not, maybe, be so amazing as there appears to be nothing strange to the scholarly patterns of mid eighteenth century England in Swift's supposition of places that show up profoundly restricted to each other. Times of change essentially include the presence of opposing situations in group of stars frequently inside crafted by a solitary author or scholar. Indeed, even Sir Isaac Newton, the best of all symbols of Enlightenment reasonability, can be spoken to in such a way: "Newton was a Janus figure, significant of the new, pragmatist, logical and mainstream future, yet additionally utilizing his scientific abilities for complex mysterious and scriptural calculations." (Corfield, 11). Obviously any endeavor to trait an authoritative philosophical situation to Swift is full of difficulty.2 Not just should the peruser endeavor to enter numerous degrees of incongruity at a small scale level, however at a large scale level the way that Swift was an Anglican minister confuses any philosophical understanding. The beginnings of the discussions on this issue are contemporaneous with the distribution of the writings themselves (William Wotton's perceptions, for instance), and analysis up to the finish of the nineteenth century proceeded, predominately, to demand a skeptical Swift a methodology that made due into the twentieth century: "no barrier of Swift's principal strict universality can stand the trial of such works. He is a distrustful humanist who over and over inclines at Christian belief". (Wilson Knight, on "The Tale of a Tub",124). This strain of analysis has been for quite some time overwhelmed, be that as it may, by

The Giant Panda is in fact a quiet animal, however that is on the grounds that it essentially doesn't have the vitality not to be. In contrast to different bears, which are omnivorous, the pandaââ¬â¢s diet comprises exclusively of bamboo. A solitary panda requires a territory of around four square kilometers of bamboo to have an adequate flexibly of food, and it must go through 14 to 16 hours of every day eating that food so as to endure. The panda needs to invest such an extensive amount its energy eating since it has a poor stomach related framework. The pandaââ¬â¢s diet gives it one questionable ability: Pooping. Since a large portion of what it eats goes through the pandaââ¬â¢s framework undigested, a grown-up panda creates an amazing measure of ââ¬Å"number twoâ⬠â⬠as much as 62 kilograms for every day. The Giant Pandaââ¬â¢s powerlessness to utilize its food productively additionally keeps it from resting; the panda basically can't gobble enough to develop the fat stores important to permit it to sleep through the winter like a ââ¬Å"normalâ⬠bear. The eating regimen likewise is dependable, a few researchers accept, for the pandaââ¬â¢s uncommon regenerative example. Female pandas ovulate only one per year and are just rich for a few days. Since pandas should separately keep up an enormous region of the bamboo woodland for their own food needs, experiences between pandas in the wild are moderately uncommon, and that incorporates open doors for mating. In the case of mating is effective, incubation takes from four to eight months; the wide time extend is because of the female pandaââ¬â¢s body deferring implantation of the prepared egg until there is sufficient nourishment to help it. At that point once the panda fledgling is conceived, it has a fifty-fifty possibility of getting by to adulthood; panda offspring are simple prey for various predators, however as a rule are slaughtered by being incidentally squashed by their own moms. While the Giant Panda has been genuinely undermined by human action, for example, poaching â⬠which is treated as an offensive wrongdoing in China, deserving of a long jail sentence or even capital punishment â⬠and decimation of its normal living space, the pandaââ¬â¢s attributes that normally appear to neutralize its endurance have driven a few researchers to close it is a ââ¬Å"remnant speciesâ⬠: One that is normally getting wiped out all alone. In that sense, the way that pandas are simply so darned cute might be a smart transformative preferred position â⬠incapable to make due in the wild, the Giant Panda is furnished with a look and a character that has demonstrated overwhelming to the one animal types with the capacity to conquer nature for the pandaââ¬â¢s extreme advantage. Away A Commentary on 1960s Australia - Literature Essay Samples
Oftentimes, the best representation of a nation can be found within literature. Such is through for Michael Gowââ¬â¢s 1986 play Away, which offers a distinct depiction of Australian society in 1968, a time when crises such as the Great Depression and World War II were decades in the past but still fresh in mind. Through Gowââ¬â¢s expert characterisation of Gwen and Roy, this didactic text reveals the preoccupation with social status, materialism and ignorance of mental illness that define this period of Australian culture. Gow is able to make a strong comment on the excessive concern with social status possessed by Australian citizens of this time. This ideology is exemplified by the characters of Gwen and Ron, who represent the typical attitudes of Australian society, as seen when Gwen mentions she ââ¬Å"got a new caravan. Everything in it you could want.â⬠Here, the bragging within Gwenââ¬â¢s dialogue and the symbolism of the expensive vehicle is used to demonstrate that her family holiday revolves around status and is an opportunity to display their social position, rather than to bond with loved ones. It is through these devices that Gow is able to illustrate the intense value placed on societal standing by Australian society, an idea that is continued within Royââ¬â¢s dialogue, ââ¬Å"One. My position at school. I canââ¬â¢t go turning up at school functions with you if youââ¬â¢re going to behave like a ghost.â⬠Here, the prioritisation of his ââ¬Ëpositionââ¬â¢ over the needs of his wife highlights the importance of social status within the culture of Australia. As these characters repeatedly value their societal positions above even their loved ones, the play is able to emphasise the preoccupation with social status found within Australiaââ¬â¢s nationhood. The play also serves to underline Australiaââ¬â¢s materialism within this time period through its characters. As the nation recovers from earlier historical traumas, the effect this has had on its citizens are clearly demonstrated within Gwenââ¬â¢s values, as seen within her reaction to the massive storm, ââ¬Å"Take the stove! â⬠¦ Whereââ¬â¢s my purse?â⬠Here, her dialogue within this dangerous scenario reveals that she is most concerned with the safety of her material belongings, even over that of her family. Her obsession with her property reflects the extreme materialism that plagued Australian culture at this time, an idea which is further supported in her attitude towards the poorer characters of Vic and Harry, who are staying in a ââ¬Å"lean-toâ⬠and who Gwen believes are ââ¬Å"living like pigsâ⬠and ââ¬Å"shouldnââ¬â¢t be going on a holiday if they canââ¬â¢t afford one.â⬠Here, her dialogue demonstrates her condescending opinion of du e to their inferior accommodation, suggesting that she measures oneââ¬â¢s success by their material possessions, whilst her commentary on their decisions reveals that she expects others to do the same. Through the character of Gwen, Gow is able to illustrate the excessive materialism seen within Australian society following the Great Depression. Additionally, Gowââ¬â¢s expert employment of characterisation has allowed him to illustrate the harsh ignorance towards mental illness demonstrated by the majority of Australian society during this time. This is obvious within Roy, who represents the nationââ¬â¢s dominant ideologies, and his unforgiving attitude towards Coralââ¬â¢s depression. This is seen in his dialogue with her, such as in the lines, ââ¬Å"I donââ¬â¢t care how you justify it, you behave in a way thatââ¬â¢s tooâ⬠¦weird for my liking.â⬠Here, his use of the phrase ââ¬Ëtoo weird for my likingââ¬â¢ reveals that he expects her to adhere to his expectations for her behaviour and his disregard for her mental struggles. As he represents the common ideas of Australian culture, this highlights the nationââ¬â¢s unforgiving and ignorant attitudes towards depression and other mental illnesses. This idea is further developed as Roy continues to threaten her in hopes of altering her behaviour, à ¢â¬Å"Do you want me to arrange shock treatment? â⬠¦Iââ¬â¢ll lock you up if thatââ¬â¢s what it takesâ⬠¦But you wonââ¬â¢t behave like this.â⬠His reaction to her depression and his adamant belief that she has control over its effect on her behaviour reveal the complete lack of understanding in Australian society regarding this issue. It is through this strong characterisation of Roy that Gow is able to highlight the ignorance towards mental illness that was ubiquitous within Australian culture at the time. Thus, Michael Gowââ¬â¢s expert use of characterisation, dialogue and symbolism enables his 1986 play Away to form a strong depiction of Australian society during the 1960s. Through his portrayal of Gwen and Roy, who represent the dominant ideologies of Australia, he is able to reveal the nationââ¬â¢s preoccupation with social status, as well as the materialism of its citizens and the ignorance towards mental illness present within its culture.

The Past Is Our Definition - 1519 Words
An American novelist Wendell Berry once said that ââ¬Å"the past is our definition.â⬠But does the past truly hold enough strength to impact oneââ¬â¢s life? Is it merely a faded thought? Or does it provide an insight into oneââ¬â¢s being? Quite often the past is simply referred to as a certain amount of elapsed time. However, it is more than just a quantifying term. The past is the memoir of oneââ¬â¢s existence. It is the recollection of memories. The past is the keeper of our dreams, our struggles and our fears. It is the moments that collectively create both oneââ¬â¢s present and personality. The past is a series of chords which when played in the right combinations produce a melodious euphony. On the other hand, it may be an avalanche bearing the symbol of oneââ¬â¢s destruction. In times of sorrow, a glimpse into the past can provide relief by reminding one of moments of joy, by allowing him to relive them in his mind and by reducing the magnitude of his g rief through this mirage. The past teaches a person to learn from his failures. Through the provision of a clear picture of oneââ¬â¢s faults, the past compels a person to alter his course of action or change his behavior as time progresses in order to abstain from committing the same mistakes again. Thus, the past can shape one into an entirely different person. ââ¬Å"Bear Came Over The Mountainâ⬠by Alice Munro is the tale of a coupleââ¬â¢s distress as the wife, Fiona is diagnosed with Alzheimerââ¬â¢s disease. Feminist At Heart By Susan Glaspell Essay - 1294 Words
Feminist at Heart Susan Glaspell is one of the less known backbones of American women writers. She was unconventional in a conventional time, and paved the way for respect in journalism, and then writing, for women. In a time when women were supposed to be quiet, obedient housewives, and not much else, she gave women a voice and challenged the stereotype while bringing common womenââ¬â¢s issues to the spotlight. Glaspell started as a newspaper writer and evolved into a literary master, though she is not widely recognized for it. When she started working at the Des Moines Daily News, she was afforded the privilege to cover and was the first reporter on the scene of the Hossack case. The famous case involving a woman, Margaret Hossack, who allegedly killed her prominent farmer husband, John Hossack, was the base for many of Glaspellââ¬â¢s future works. The newspaper articles Glaspell wrote began with focus on the case, seemingly unbiased and awaiting further investigation. As the case evolved and the male figures involved with it started pointing fingers at Mrs. Hossack, Glaspell became more accusatory in her writing. The articles, ranging from 1900 to 1901, painted the picture of a scorned woman who murdered her husband for wealth and land. In the 1900s, it was uncommon for a woman to murder her husband, and the sensationalism made for a good read in every corner of the country. As the case moved on and Mrs. Hossack testified in court, Glaspell softened a bit. Is It Pink By Robert N. Minor - 1223 Words
This analysis will examine chapter three, ââ¬Å"Is it Pink? Is it Blue?â⬠of Robert N. Minorââ¬â¢s book, Scared Straight: Why It s So Hard to Accept Gay People and Why It s So Hard to Be Human. Minor is a Professor of Religious Studies at the University of Kansas and often focuses his writing toward gay rights and gender roles in society. This particular book is a cultural critique of the United Statesââ¬â¢ gender roles and homophobia. Minorââ¬â¢s arguments leave a weak impression and leave readers with a sense of confusion. Minor ineffectively uses rhetoric in his arguments to establish a purpose, inform his audience, use effective language, or to persuade his audience to take action. Minorââ¬â¢s essentially argues that societyââ¬â¢s gender roles areâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦Consequently, these factors lead the audience to question his credibility. In Minorââ¬â¢s writing, he is frequently hypocritical. For example, while he claims to strongly advocate equality between the sexes, he speaks nearly entirely about menââ¬â¢s gender roles, only touching on female gender roles. He scarcely even mentions different gender identities besides male and female. He also always begins speaking about men before women, which several might argue is an illustration of the injustices he is trying to argue against. Time and again Minor will take up two or three pages speaking about the male point of view on a topic, but only a few paragraphs relating to the female side. Also, the female side is usually utilized to contrast the male side, rather than any examples of Minor truly writing about as its own entity. The fact that he speaks only about ââ¬Å"menâ⬠and ââ¬Å"womenâ⬠shows that he himself may portray an ignorance towards other identities. Additionally, while Minor constantly pushes for more tolerance for different sexual ori entations, his definition of other sexual orientations appears limited to gay men, completely ignoring an entire spectrum of sexual orientations and gender identities. In a sense, Minor perpetuates the same gender roles he argues so strongly against. Minor also uses incredibly vague sources in his writing. One instance of this is seen when he incorporates a strange poem into his ââ¬Å"evidenceâ⬠(71). This poem
Grand Challenges in Digital Education â⬠Free Samples to Students
Question: Discuss about the Grand Challenges in Digital Education. Answer: Introduction: The article published in 2017 stated that the hazardous development of ICT and the utilization of its authorise innovations have enormously affected the society and accordingly the genuine moral question might be raised concerning people and organizations, and additionally public education centres. The problems that need to be addressed raised by the ICT integrated the intrusion or education of individual as well as corporate safety, licensed innovation precise, individual as well as societal rights, value conservation and duty for the results emerging from the more and more utilization of the ICT Management. The educational viability of the ICT relies on how they are utilized as well as for what reason. What's more, similar to other educational device or method of educational conveyance, ICT don't work for everybody, wherever similarly (Tiamongla, 2017). This study includes the ethical issuesarising from the utilization of ICT at educational centres. ICT has been assumed to be the huge part in an progress of numerous segments, for example, business, education sector, science, as well as all the more vital in the development at the time of globalization. ICT has enabled numerous different economies to deed the globalization chance with the web-based business sites. This is an important certainty for the training or education segment too. With the appearance of globalization, strikingly, distance education has developed generously (Ardenghi, 2012). Students trade programs that occurred between two unique nations might not be a standard in the entire future. Today, an understudy in China can get a degree from the (AU) American University, by showing up for an exam from the solace of home. This essential standard of being physically exist before the academician to take on a subject test is not important any longer. The self-learning models are getting to be noticeably prominent with the progression of ICT on a worldwide scale. The issue with separation instruction is the absence of moral conduct on some portion of the understudies. Separate training makes it troublesome for the resources to screen their understudy's conduct (Benjamin, 2013). In the current situation, an ICT advancement that happened in America has influenced the entire world. One best cases is "the expanded use of Facebook" by youths and adults alike, regardless of caste, statement of faith, shading, race, and financial contrasts. The great part is organizing advancements like Facebook interface the entire world of business, scholars, as well as different interests. Yet, we can't deny the fact that dependence on innovation has lead everyone to disregard the genuinely necessary up close and personal communication. Other than that now again we come to know that, it is an encroachment on individual rights when web clients get fake emails that mislead them with fake open doors in the career sector as well as education. I believe that creating web innovations offer a quick paced and proficient workplace, which implies suitable work in very less time (Bostan, 2015). I totally feel that in any case, this may likewise mean, more is average from the data specialists in fewer time. Notwithstanding the nearness of digital laws halting digital wrongdoing has stayed to be ineffectual. Now we see that a comparable situation in an education division, considering the adversity of non-indistinguishable standards of conduct among the web clients. In such a situation, the directions will vary in light of nationality and monetary status. The people who are conceived in a specific nation will show signs of improvement opportunities. People from a growing economy might deny of similar opportunities. The disparity is available in present circumstances too, however, it is just to a specific degree as well as may not increment (Lesufi, 2017). The absence of digital laws and directions may prompt greater imbalance in th e quality of education. Recognizable proof of pertinent Ethical issues Pros: The entire world now turned into a small place since more troublesome for a individual live in the nation to contact with a man in China. Individuals can contact each other finished their email-ids, websites and numerous other online assets (McLean, 2011). Cons: Students and experts most of the time use Internet in their day to day tasks, for instance, checking messages, refreshing their Facebook page and notwithstanding playing an advanced amusement that perfect use of time turns must be into the main test for students. The unreasonable utilization of the Internet likewise influences the skillfulness of all standby. There is reliably a differentiation of perusing a journal Management in print as well as understanding it completely on web. Pros: A speedier imparting model must be presented by scholar through the media innovation. Many understudies also take some lessons at own pace and since amendments end up noticeably simpler. The total experience of mutuality, joining, investigating and grasping data in addition makes adapting much intriguing (Olugasa, 2013). Cons: The primary objective of training is to prpeare proficiency to advance the reparable society which can thrive on the postulate of financial advancement. The time of learning system has started as well as the monetary improvement fully depends on a capacity to appreciate changes or alterations on the entire planet economy (Shaffer, 2014). As the rising detachment training form, the conveyance exemplary of education is changing, nevertheless, the major worry is that ought not to prompt an improvement in the behave or quality of education or instruction which is being properly conveyed. Pros: Those students who totally denied admitance or access to the scholarly learning by well-known colleges mislay their goal to proceed studying.Their conclusion for a specific college makes them completely feel unwanted when a similar college denies verification. With ICT in the photo, similar understudies get a opportunity to seek after gain from home training from a similar college (Tiamongla, 2017). Cons: Academicians as well as instructors are well-appropriated with set up approaches as well as their application on the understudies (Trabelsi, McCoey, 2016). With the display of education or instruction on the web, instructors have little extensions to apply the preparation procedure on the understudy group. ICT technologies advancing as well as changing. The information security goals have been altered timely in order to meet socio-technological alteration taking place within globally interconnected surroundings. This most of the time affects the ICT security argumentation for the education institute or organization. The ICT safety issues as well as concerns are now becoming more prevailing along with increasingly difficult as the step of technology implementations proceed to speed up. This phenomenon has impressed both the unexclusive sector as well as the private sector worldwide. References Ardenghi, D. (2012). Letter From Birmingham Jail Essays - Gangs In The United States
Letter From Birmingham Jail Martin Luther King Jr.'s essay, A Letter From Birmingham Jail has become a classic for good reason. Martin Luther King was an excellent writer and speaker, appealing not only to the logical side of most people, but also to their emotional side. He was an intelligent man, keeping up with all the current events of not only the nation but the world, and was well read in issues of the past. What he said and wrote came from deep inside him and was influenced by his belief in God and Jesus Christ. His essay took his knowledge and his talents of persuasion, and summed up what he was working for and what he believed in. When he stated, "Anyone who lives inside the U.S. can never be considered an outsider anywhere within its bounds..." he was saying that Americans are people made up of many cultures and backgrounds. He was celebrating America's diversity, which makes the United States such a wonderful place to live. He would be ashamed and sorrowful if he saw how citizens of The United States treated each other today. If we had to take a million immigrants in, say, Zulus, next year, or Englishmen, and put them in Virginia, what group would be easier to assimilate? Patrick Buchanan is outspoken on many subjects, immigration is one of them. Buchanan believes that there should be a 200 mile fence built along the U.S. Mexican border, and that Congress should pass a five-year moratorium on legal immigration. He also feels that an Executive Order should be signed which would abolish federally mandated minority programs and affirmative-action plans, plans that were put in place during the Civil Rights Movement which King helped to lead. Buchanan is the same man who stated that women were "simply not endowed by nature with the same measures of single-minded ambition and the will to succeed." Yet, if he becomes President he will re-instate prayer and Bible study classes because he believes that family values and morals are non-existent in American society today. Is this guy for real? What happened to equality? How can someone be religious and still go around declaring that some people are better then others? Supposedly our country was to have gotten rid of all its racists notions during the 60's and the 70's. Apparently not. Buchanan is creating outsiders within the U.S. Measure 9 and Measure 13, measures, had they been passed, would have caused discrimination on a public scale, legal in Oregon. It would have isolated gays and lesbians as freakish groups who live their lives differently then the main stream, and therefore should be punished for their uniqueness. The founders of these measures, Lon Maybon and the Oregon Citizens Alliance, are so determined to pass such a measure that they are thinking of putting a third measure on the ballot next November. The OCA believes that they have the right to declare homosexuals as dirty people because it says so in the Bible. That, because they have intercourse with members of their own sex, homosexuals should not be allowed to adopt children, or to become legally married. That God has damned them for eternity and that they should be treated accordingly. The OCA is creating outsiders within the U.S. The Crips and the Bloods are two widely known gangs in America. They are centered in the Los Angeles area, but they have groups all across the United States in nearly every city. The Crips and the Bloods are only two of hundreds of growing gangs that are surfacing nation wide. The gangs are prominently located in the inner-cities, the poorer areas of large cities. The gangs play on the idea that they are a family. If anyone attacks my brother, then I'm here to fight back for him. Occasionally, they kill an innocent bystander or two. The kids (Kids they are. Gangs have been known to recruit children between the ages of 10 and 13.) that become members commonly have problems at home, abuse or neglect are prevalent. They feel that the only place left to turn is to the streets, and to the brotherhood of the gangs. Gangs are commonly associated with drugs and violence, for good reason. They attack each other for violation of territory and for interference in each others business, causing a vicious circle of revenge. The result of this violence is fear and anger felt by their victims and neighborhoods. It also leads to a separation between the inner-cities and the suburbs, and stereotyping of whites

Essay Writing Topics Essays
Essay Writing Topics EssaysWriting a college topics essay is more difficult than writing one that has to do with a current term. Some of the reasons for this include the fact that you will have less time and fewer options, but that is not the only reason. The first thing you need to do is to find out what topic is currently being discussed in the classroom. Of course this may not be the most convenient way to do this, as it can involve a visit to the teacher's office. The next step is to write the topic from the viewpoint of your teachers, or more precisely from that of students that are in your class. Ask them for their opinions and thoughts about the topic and make a list of the major points that they mention, as well as any alternative points they might offer.Another approach is to take a look at what students are doing in class and try to come up with your own opinions on the subject. After all, as you will find, it is not uncommon for people to have completely different opinions a bout the same topic than you did.You should also keep in mind that as you are writing the new subject you will be writing more on a hands-on basis than you did when you were writing a current term essay. Also, you should make sure that you try to not only express the original opinion, but that you also highlight points that are contradictory to that opinion. This can make the essay seem much more attractive. You should keep in mind that essay writing is actually a skill and will improve as you continue to practice it. However, you will find that it takes time to perfect the skill. If you are looking for information on how to change and/or express your opinions, you will find that there are many resources available to you. Many of these books will teach you the skills needed to use effectiveessay writing. In addition, you will find that essay writing can be quite simple if you choose the right exercises and techniques. It is important to remember that your essay is not the end of the pr ocess, as you will want to make sure that you properly evaluate your essay before submitting it.

Stomp The Yard Review Professor Ramos Blog
Stomp The Yard Review Stomp the Yard is by far one of the best captivating and entertaining movies I have ever watched. If there is a movie which I can vote for completely, then it is the movie stomp the yard. This movie is about an inner city krump dancer, DJ, who moves to Atlanta, Georgia for a fresh start. In the movie, DJââ¬â¢s role is arrogant, over-confident, and determine to win the heart of April Palmer. The plot of the movie is so entertaining and touching that I could watch it everyday. This is my favorite movie because it focuses on responsibility and determination, it also shows how one person can not be above everyone else, it takes teamwork. Lastly, the movie shows how a man is to appreciate and treat the lady he loves. Stomp the yard focuses on competing fraternity steppers at fictional Truth University. DJ channels his anger at the system though crunk dancing, and his innovative moves make him a crowd favorite. But when a fight with a rival team leads to his brother Durons murder, DJ feels guilt and despair, which turns, no surprise, into more anger. Shipped off to Atlanta to live with his uncle and aunt, DJ finds new athletic, dance, and competition possibilities in stepping. At Truth, DJ is recruited by two fraternities who think his skills will help them win the national championship. He selects Theta Nu Theta because its leader, the one and only, Ernest Sylvester extols the virtues of brotherhood more than winning the title which of course, everyone focuses on winning. I give full credit to the director, producer and editors of this film. They really kept their brains working when they were coming up with all the ideas composed of the film. Such ideas as stepping, DJs love for April, Grants rivalry with DJ, April fathers grudge against DJs uncle for having stolen his girlfriend back in the day and the Pythons dream to beat The MU Gamma at the National championships. This film is well directed. For instance, when DJ moves to Atlanta and joins The Truth University, he discovers, stepping, the dancing technique which is traditionally done in African-American fraternities. It is here where teams demonstrate their complex moves and create rhythmic sounds by the use of their bodies. For example DJs talent sees him at the peak of hip-hop between rivalry of the two fraternities (Pythons and MU Gamma), the winner of which will be determined in front of a sold-out-arena at the annual championships, nevertheless, DJ has to overcome his own ego and learn the true meaning of brotherhood. The films nature has its audience fully involved. The editing of this movie was done with the highest perspective. Its rhythms are well edited, they are captivating and entertaining. In depth Stomp the Yard demonstrates responsibility and determination that makes this movie so real and interesting. The costumes and make-up directors did a marvelous job. The fact is that the costumes used in the movie were captivating. The costumes added relevance to the motion and main ideas in the film. For example, at the last stage of the movie, The MU Gamma fraternity presented a show that incorporated wolf sounds. This was further enhanced by the fact that the group had worn torn clothes. The use of different costume by the different fraternities brought out their sophistication. The director selected costumes that are widely used by todays generation of dancing artists. This film has a significant impact on its audiences. There are several aspects that have been tackled in the movie. The movie develops and improves on the dancing skill of those interested in dancing. It also urges the individuals (specifically the youth) to fight for what they want through dedication and commitment. For example, DJ has to overcome so many obstacles in order to accomplish the goals he has. The movie also shows the importance of standing by friends and family. This is shown when DJ is taken in by his uncle and also when April stands up to her father in order to defend DJ. April also comforts and encourages DJ when hes just about to quit and she manages to convince him to keep going. à Furthermore it portrays the consequences of hatred among individuals. For instance, the hatred that Aprils father has for DJs uncle is immense such that he does not want DJ to be with his daughter. The hatred between DJ and Grant also causes DJs suspension (when grant investigates abou t DJs past and finds that he had a criminal record). For those people that love dance movies, stomp the yard brings new ideas and moves to the screen. The movie unlike other many dance films enhances the importance of uniformity when performing as a crew. It is a truly captivating film that is fun and educative to watch. Heavy-handed and well- intentioned, Stomp the Yard proposes that step groups (and similar organizations) provide structure and inspiration for students in need of guidance and a sense of belonging. Its a decidedly masculine melodrama. Not only does DJ contend with paternal dis approvals (his uncle thinks stepping is a waste of time, and Aprils dad warns him that My daughter is not some shorty for you to mess with!), but he must also come to terms with his own competitive hostility and Durans death. At the same time, he has to come up with a killer step routine for the group. Luckily, DJ is inspired by Truths amazing array of sorority and fraternity alumni, who are enshrined in Heritage Hall, à the list includes Esther Rolle, Hines Ward, Michael Jordan, Rosa Parks, and Coretta Scott King, among others. à Stomp the Yard, as itsââ¬â¢ predecessors, offers the hope that there is indeed a better life out there to those who wish to grab a hold of it. It provided to me a good feeling when DJ entered Heritage House and paid respect to all the Civil Rights leaders and influential people who paved the way for him to succeed. More movies need to focus on uplifting people rather than portraying their stereotypes and continuing the circle of despair. Yes, its a strained conceit, but Sylvain Whites movie does well to remind all of us of these powerful embodiments of resistance, motivation, and truth.

An Evaluation of the Activities, Reading Books and Watching Movies
An Evaluation of the Activities, Reading Books and Watching Movies Books vs. Movies Which one is better reading a book or watching a movie? People always debate on whether reading a book is better than watching a movie. Movies are just a live action version of a book, but the movies tend to leave out a lot of details one can get from reading the book. Grant it, reading a book takes more time, but a person gets to tap into their imagination more from reading a book than watching a movie. Books are just as great as movies if not better because books have no time limit, give people a better understanding, and they have more detail. Reading a book has no time limit, whereas; movies have a certain time period to get finished in. The books that are made into movies usually do not turn out the way we want them to be. Movies can be ruined by bad actors. The length of the movies determines how much details from the book go into the movie. Sadly, movies are all about the actors more than the details from the book ever were. When reading a book maybe the readerââ¬â¢s imagination was not met when they watched the movie. While reading a book you get a better understanding of the characters thoughts, feelings, and actions because it is written throughout the book itself. Reading a book lets the readerââ¬â¢s imagination flow. When the reader taps into their imagination they can imagine what the book is like visually. One can picture the characters in their head. They can picture what the characters voices sound like. The reader can visualize the scenes and imagine what the places look like according to what they read. People can relate more to a book usually than a movie because books have more detail. Not all the details from reading a book can be pictured in the movies. Typically the movies are worse than the book. Details draw the readers in and the more details they gather the more intrigued they get. When people get intrigued they usually follow what intrigues them. So therefore if they are reading the first book throughout a series it will make them read the other books. When someone picks up a book that they like they tend to find other books that are like the book they read. Reading books are better than movies due to the fact of having no time limit, a better understanding, and way more details. Books draw the reader in more than when a person watches movie. People go watch a movie typically because of actors. Books and movies are both great but books will always last longer. Books have a higher demand than a movie ever will.

Cosmetic Composition Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1500 words
Cosmetic Composition - Essay Example A brief introduction of some of the frequently used chemicals is given below and their effects on the skin are also discussed. Tretinoin also commonly known as Retin-A is a chemical derived form vitamins and is usually used for the treatment of acne. Later it was discovered that it can also be used for the elimination of small wrinkles. After this discovery, cosmetic companies ritually started including vitamin A in their cosmetics claiming it to be highly beneficial, others disagreed and stated that Retin A actually irritates and puffs up the skin which gives it a smooth wrinkle free look. Secondly fruit acids generally popular as Alpha Hyroxy Acids (AHA) claimed to gently remove the dead skin cells revealing softer and smoother inner layer. Later on studies revealed that AHAââ¬â¢s should not be used very frequently since they can serve to be drugs rather than cosmetic and it was also prohibited since it is very frequently used by non trained beauticians which can bring about ver y serious damages to the skin. The very popularly used exfoliants can also be very damaging and hazardous to the skin since they serve to remove the dead and mature skin cells revealing and exposing the premature skin cells to dust and ultraviolet rays. In the absence of the adult skin cells, the premature ones have a tendency to age and dry out rapidly. (Leslie, 100) Use of Masks and Serums and its Impact on the Beauty Industry The basic concerns of individuals, as far as skin is concerned is aging spots and areas affected by the ultraviolet rays. Skin specialists have been focusing their concentration on these problems so that they can be easily tackled and taken care of. The extract of Magnolia Sieboldii is used to address the problem of photoaging and also for the prevention of wrinkles. Its extract has the ability to protect the skin cells from the sun rays and ensures minimum skin damage by suppressing the damage of the skin cells and DNA. It also contains within itself the pr operty of reducing the wrinkles that appear on the skin with time, it does so by providing growth to the synthesis of collagen simultaneously retarding the growth of collagenases. Hence it is widely used in sunblocks, and also in anti ageing masks and serums. Other natural active ingredients used in cosmetics are alcohol, aloe vera, amino acids, avocado oil, beeswax, cucumber extract etc. Their useful affects on skin cells and body are as discussed. Alcohol is used in a lot of cosmetics for the purpose of skin firming and disinfecting it. Aloe vera is considered to be very effective in treating damaged and dry skin, providing it moisture and a soothing effect. It regenerates the dead and mature skin cells. Beeswax is simply the wax produced by the bees and is known to be effective for the protection and moisture locking in the cells. Avocado is a multipurpose fruit which is used for eating as well as in the cosmetic industry. Its extracts are immediately absorbed by the skin making it supple without a fatty appearance to it. It maintains and revitalizes the working of the lipid barrier making lamellar coverings which give the skin a unitone complexion along with flexibility. (Valerie, 219) Benefits of Cosmetic Composition Cosmetics may have hazardous effects on the skin but if used wisely and in the right proportion can make the skin

Are Zoos Inhumane? Essays -- Animal Cruelty
In the film, Madagascar, zoos are depicted as a sanctuary in which all the exotic animals are kept safe and are open for the public to view. But many would argue that zoos are inhumane, the caging of animals for our personal entertainment is unjustifiable. Those who believe that zoos are wrong and should be destroyed are animal rights activist; they believe that animals should be allowed to choose their own destiny. Those that believe that zoos are an important part of our lives are scientist and zoologist. This debate has gone on for generations and average folk are stuck in the middle, not knowing which side to stand on. The animals being kept in captivity could not be interviewed; their side of the story will be based on interpretation on their movement and interaction with animals in the zoo and in the wild. Are animals better suited to live in the harsh conditions of the wild or are they better suited to live their lives safely in captivity? Many animal rights activist argue that animals should be allowed to live their lives in the wild instead of captivity. That we as humans have no right to neither alter the fate of other species nor use them for our personal benefits. PETA who is well known for their animal rights view argue that ââ¬Å"Captive animals are deprived of everything that is natural and important to them and as a result, they become bored and lonely and many even suffer from a condition called zoochosis.â⬠(PETA 1) Zoochosis is a condition in which the animal wonders back and forth usually in the same position for hours on end. This condition is only seen in the zoos as a result of the animalââ¬â¢s captivity. As a result zoos provide these animals with Prozac, which is a mood-altering drug to help prevent public atte... ... in todays society. But one thing is for sure many would argue that zoos have brought humans and animals closer together for the good and the bad. Works Cited "Zoos." Animal Cruelty -. N.p., n.d. Web. 12 May 2015. Abstract for Literature review based on Dentistsââ¬â¢ Knowledge of Ionising Radiation dental radiography.
Abstract for literature review Despite there is a rapid growth in the technology that has myriad benefits in improving the interventions of dental health, only a fewer dentists are well aware of the risk hazards of some these modern technologies (Praveen, et.al. 2013). Large body of evidence suggests the lack of knowledge in dentists in regards to the risks associated with ionising radiation while giving dental service (Rout and Brown, 2012). More importantly, only a handful of studies have attempted to unveil the facts and current state of knowledge and awareness associated with detrimental effects of ionising radiation in Australian and Jordanian dentists. This study, through questionnaires and interviews, examined the dentists that are giving services in Australia and Jordan and assessed their knowledge of such effects that are linked with ionising radiations. The study was carried through intense literature review was carried out to collect the current background in the subject area and the findings of these s tudies were critically reviewed. Focus of the literature review was based upon the different factors, such as the complications of ionising radiation, complications in different age group people, preventive measures and the current state of knowledge in the dentists all around the globe. Praveen, et.al (2013) suggests that radiation in dentistry is mainly used for diagnostic purposes and in a dental set-up usually the practicing dentist exposes, processes and interprets the radiograph. Although the exposure to such radiation is kept as very less, it is essential to reduce the exposure to the minimum to the dental personnel and patients in order avoid the carcinogenic and organ damaging effects that can be produced by it.. Several radiation protection measures have been advocated to ameliorate these effects. Dose dependent radiation exposure was identified as a one of the key measures in limiting the use of ionising radiation. As suggested by White and Mallya (2012), wise selection of patients to treat with ionising radiation and implement patient-specific reason, which ensures greater benefits than the harms are the two easiest ways to tackle with the risks associated with ionising radiation. However, Ayatollahi et.al (2012) suggests that this practice is not adequately implemented in majority of the dental clinics. Secondly, the review identified children as most susceptible to radiation exposure. Preventive measures such as use of special radiation protection equipments and dose dependent exposure were suggested to be central in minimising the effects of ionising radiation in children in dental clinics. Moreover, it was suggested that knowledge of such risks in dentists can make a significant contribution in the improvement of safe dental practice, ensuring adequate safeguards of both patients and dentists. The literature came up with a conclusion that up to date and evidenced based knowledge is still lacking in dentist regarding the risks of radiation hazard. This will need re-educating and re-training the dentists, make them aware of ionising radiation risks, and make them able to answer any queries from patients about the risks of ionising radiations (Praveen, et.al. 2013). As part of the clinical practice, all dentists are required to undertake radiography as part of the clinical practice in which dentists and members of the dental team, must understand the basic principles of radiation physics, hazards and protection, and should be able to undertake dental radiography safely with the production of high quality, diagnostic images (Rout and Brown, 2012). Although the grey area that was identified was that, dentists are poorly informed on how to use medical imaging tools safely and efficiently. Furthermore, they are found to underestimate the radiation risk and their devastating effec ts in patientsââ¬â¢ long term health. In addition, some of the studies revealed that despite some knowledge on the harmful effects of ionising radiation in patients, as well as in their own health, the knowledge of patientââ¬â¢s protection including the exposure distance and prevention of radiation leakage, protection of personnel, i.e. the occupational risk hazards of ionising radiation, dentists were reluctant to employ these safety measures in day to day practice (Rout and Brown, 2012)). Considering the context of this study, no research has evaluated Australian and Jordanian dentistsââ¬â¢ knowledge on the risks associated with ionising radiation in the dental clinics; suggesting the importance and need to carry out this study. This puts patients of different age groups in significant risk of developing pathological conditions that are induced by the exposure to ionising radiation. Thus, designing a training module to teach dentists about radiation safety and risk is mandatory for safe dental health practice. This study provides insights into developing new strategies, policies and practices to minimise or even avoid such risks in the future.
